Take a scenic drive along the Blue Ridge Parkway, stop by local galleries and shops, or discover the rich mining history of the region at Emerald Village near Little Switzerland. This unique attraction features real mines, gemstone mining, museums, and special underground experiences. Sunday offers a slower pace filled with Appalachian tradition and family fun. Spend the afternoon at The Orchard at Altapass for their beloved Gospel Hymn gathering. Located directly off the Blue Ridge Parkway, the Orchard is known for preserving mountain heritage through music, storytelling, apples, and breathtaking views.
