Join alien and UFO enthusiasts at the 3rd annual Spruce Pine Alien Festival also known previously as the (SPACE) Festival in Downtown Spruce Pine on Oak Avenue. the Spruce Pine Alien Festival is featured as a top 30 festival event in the month of June in North Carolina by NC tripping. Last year’s Alien Festival was enjoyed by over 25 thousand avid Alien and UFO lovers trekking through Spruce Pine looking for Alien life forms and is the largest UFO/Alien Festival in North Carolina!

NC Rhododendron Festival

The North Carolina Rhododendron Festival draws hundreds of visitors from all over the region and features the
Rhododendron Festival Pageant, the Craft Fair with food vendors, children's activities, live music throughout the day, as well as a classic car show, a 10K run, and 2 nights of street dancing. Come discover our Small Town Mountain Paradise!

Grassy Creek Gem Show

The 40th Annual Grassy Creek Mineral and Gem show will be from July 28th. to August 4th., 2024.
The event is put on by the Parkway Fire and Rescue as a way to make money to purchase new equipment for the fire stations.

Christmas 'Neath the Roan

Christmas ‘Neath the Roan is set in the small town of Bakersville, North Carolina just under beautiful Roan Mountain. The month-long celebration provides magnificent events for children and the young-at-heart.

Bakersville is ablaze with beautiful lighting and is a major part of the Mountain Christmas Trail of Lights. The biggest event, Journey to the Manger, takes place along the Creek Walk with more than ten scenes leading to the manger and the birth of the Christ Child

From the Tree Lighting and Concert to the Christmas Parade, there are many traditions. Shopping local or on-line is enhanced by a business directory on the website and merchants are providing items for door prizes from throughout the upper end of the county. And do not forget Breakfast with Santa and Mrs. Claus!
