About
The North Carolina Rhododendron Festival in Bakersville, NC is a cherished Appalachian tradition now celebrating its 78th year. Held annually in June, this weekend festival honors the blooming of the native Catawba rhododendron with events that bring the community and visitors together in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Festival highlights include the Rhododendron Pageant, the Arts & Crafts Fair, live music, the street dance, food trucks, a car show, a 10k run, and family activities that add to the festive atmosphere. This year, as the town recovers from Hurricane Helene, some events will be relocated, including the craft fair moving to the Bowman Middle School football field. Despite changes, the spirit of the festival remains strong—celebrating resilience, beauty, and community pride.
